THE DAY THEY KIDNAPPED THE POPE

A full length comedy by Joao Bethencourt.

Despite the title, this comedy has been extraordinarily successful in Europe and South America. The Vatican Newspaper, Osservatore Romano, devoted a full page to the play, giving it a rave review. Drama critics have given it the thumbs up and now Pilgrim Productions are proud to present the English translation as a New Zealand premier.

Auckland director Gwyneth Glover is delighted to follow up her highly successful production of Charley’s Aunt with a very different comedy.  With warm characters, witty dialogue and an ending to surprise us, this play is is the perfect night out for Pilgrim supporters and friends.
